Friday March 31

The grade three’s stared the day with the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, worked on their Easter card, handwriting, a comprehension sheet and their socials and science title page.

After recess Miss. Sheppard did a new math lesson with the class. The students then had a work period to finish activities from this morning.

This afternoon the grade three’s had a work period to complete assignments. Students also started a new art activity. The class did their spelling test and finished the day with DPA.

Thursday March 30th

The grade three’s started the day off with the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, group reading, handwriting, a comprehension sheet and a math review.

After recess the students reviewed their math lesson from yesterday with Miss Sheppard. She then did a new French lesson with the class about how to count in French and say how old they were.

This afternoon the class continued listening to Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. After this the class worked on making new title pages for the new science unit on matter that they will be starting next week. The grade three’s finished off the day with PE.

Wednesday March 29th

The grade three’s started off their day with library. The students did a coding lesson with Mrs. Gaspar and then they had an opportunity to go on the computer and do a math activity where they had to classify polygons.

The students then did a religion lesson talking about preparing for Easter and then we read the story of the Last Supper and when Judas betrayed Jesus.

After recess the students did some math corrections and worked on their socials title page. The class then went to music.

This afternoon the students had PE. After PE the students did a new math lesson with Miss Sheppard about sorting polygons.

Tuesday March 28th

The grade three’s started their day with PE. After PE the class, Miss Sheppard did a new math lesson with the class. students learned to use dot paper to draw geometric shapes.

After recess the students did religion. We talked about the Easter Triduum, and palm Sunday. The class then worked on their socials title page from yesterday.

This afternoon Miss Sheppard read to the class. We then did the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, group reading, a journal entry a 3 digit addition and subtraction sheet and handwriting.

Monday March 27

I hope everyone had a wonderful spring break! The grade three’s started their day by doing their spelling test from before spring break. The class then did their spelling pre-test and worked on their spelling sentences till recess.

After recess Miss. Sheppard began a new math unit with the class on polygons. She then taught a French lesson where students learned to introduce themselves and say where they live.

This afternoon the grade three’s had music. After music they worked on a new title page for social studies. The students then finished off their afternoon by working on Easter cards for the hospital.

Friday March 10

The grade three’s started their morning with the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, handwriting, story writing, math review and had a work period. After recess the students continued their morning activities and finished off their day with a school assembly.

Thursday March 9th

The grade three’s started off their morning with the Fantastic Five. Students did a math review, a comprehension sheet and handwriting.

The class then went downtown for the symphony. The students then ate their lunch and finished Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Wednesday March 8

The grade three’s started their day with a couple math practice questions and review before having their math test. After, the class was split into two groups. Half the class went to the library to finish their last landforms research assignment and the other half of the class worked on a journal entry about speech arts.

After recess the students had a work period, changed for PE and got back their math tests. Students then made corrections on their tests. Please sign and return tests. The class then went to music.

This afternoon the grade three’s had PE. After PE they had a work period to work on their journal, their Ted Harrison Art or begin individual research projects on a landform.

  5. Please wear a rain jacket or jacket with hood and rain boots if the weather is not good tomorrow. Students will be walking downtown tomorrow when going to they Symphony. Please also bring easy to eat snacks so students can put them in their pocket to eat before and after the symphony.

Monday March 6

The grade three’s started off their morning with their spelling pre-test. Students then did spelling sentences and practiced for speech arts.

After recess the students played French games and learned a couple new vocabulary words for different body parts and illustrated the words. The class finished the morning with 2 fraction math review sheets.

This afternoon the grade three’s had music. After music the class continued to work on their math sheets from this morning and then spent the remainder of the day working on their weather and erosion posters.
