Friday April 28th

The grade three’s started off the day with choir practice. After choir practice the students did journal writing and some science review sheets.

After recess the students did a review math lesson on bar graphs and line plots.

This afternoon the class had their spelling test. The class then worked on their profile collages. The grade three’s finished off the day with DPA.

Thursday April 27

The grade three’s started off the morning with the Fantastic Five. Students had a lesson about oxymorons from Miss Sheppard. The class worked on independent reading, group reading, an oxymoron activity on the carpet, a comprehension sheet and did a new bioglyph.

After recess the class did a new math lesson on pictographs. The students then did a French lesson about their favourite foods.

This afternoon the grade three’s listened to James and the Giant Peach. The students then listened to James and the Giant Peach. Miss Sheppard then let the students listen to “Cloudwalker” as told by the author. The students then did a science lesson on drawing physical changes. The grade three’s ended their day with PE.

Wednesday April 27

The grade three’s started their morning with Religion. The students reviewed the answers for their work from yesterday. We started a new unit today on how students can teach others. The class then went to the library. Half the students worked on currents 4 kids and read an article about city chickens and answered comprehension questions after. We reviewed the new vocabulary in the article before students read it. The other half of the class continued to work on light bot. The students also worked on socials good copy writing and checked out books.

After recess, the class continued work on their socials good copy writing and writing activities about BC. The students then went to music.

This afternoon, the grade three’s had PE. They finished up the day with math.

Monday April 24

The grade three’s started off the day with assembly. After assembly the students had their spelling test from last week. The class then did their spelling pre-test, made corrections and put their words in their planners.

After recess the students had 15 additional minutes to work on their spelling sentences. Miss Sheppard then taught a math lesson. Students learned how to draw horizontal and vertical bar graphs.

This afternoon, the class had music. After music the students worked on the good copy of their socials coat of arms. The students finished off the day with a science lesson on gases and did a cup and water experiment.

Friday April 21

The grade three’s started off their day with the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, group reading, journal writing, a comprehension sheet and had a work period.

After recess the students did another math lesson on graphing with Miss Sheppard. Some students also began to paint their umbrellas.

This afternoon, students continued to complete work from this morning in addition to painting their umbrellas and collecting/cutting out magazine images for their new art collage.

Thursday April 20

The grade three’s started the day with the Fantastic Five. The class has a lesson on personifications. Students did independent reading, group reading, handwriting, wrote personifications and did the rough draft illustration for the umbrella painting which will begin tomorrow.

After recess Miss Sheppard did another math lesson with the students. The class learned about line plots and how to make them.

This afternoon the students did an experiment about density. They also worked on the good copy of their socials coat of arms. They finished off the day with PE.

Wednesday March 19

The grade three’s started off their morning with religion. We talked about the Paschal mystery and what it means to make sacrifices. The students then went to the library. Half the students worked on writing on the good copy of their third term goals. The second half of the class worked on light bot coding. The class switched after 15 minutes.

After recess, the class continued to work on their good copy of their Third Term Goals writing. The students then went to music.

This afternoon the class PE, after PE Miss Sheppard began a new math unit with the class. The students learned about tallies, collecting data and the parts of a graph.

Tuesday April 18

The grade three’s began their day with PE. After PE the students had their math test.

After recess the class had their spelling test from last week. They then did their pre-test and put their new words in their planners. The students spent the remainder of the morning working on their socials coat of arms.

This afternoon, Miss Sheppard read Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator. The students then participated in the fantastic five. The students did independent reading, group reading, spelling sentences, had a work period and worked on their social studies writing.
