Wednesday June 8

The grade three’s started off their day with math. The students worked independently to complete a math chapter review in preparation for their math test next Wednesday. The students then worked on their socials research projects.

After recess students continued to work on their socials projects as well as their Father’s day cards. The class then went to music.

This afternoon the students finished their father’s day cards and had PE.

Tuesday June 6

Today the grade three’s started off their day with PE. After PE students had a math lesson where they learned how to create different shapes with the same perimeter. Students also made corrections to their work from yesterday.

After recess the students continued working to work on their math first. Students then worked with their partner on their socials research. Those that were done their research began working on their rough draft paragraphs.

This afternoon students participate in the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, group reading, a comprehension sheet, Father’s day cards and had a work period.

Monday June 5

The grade three’s began their day with Step Up Day. Students went to the grade four class and spent an hour with Mrs. Pineda. After this the students did their spelling pre-test, made corrections and worked on their spelling sentences. They continued this work after recess. The students then did some math review on measuring perimeter in cm, metres and deciding which unit of measurement to use for different lengths and distances.

This afternoon the class worked on their math from this morning, spelling sentences, work for Mrs. Pineda and Pentacost worksheets. The class then organized all their duo tangs and put old work into all their duo tangs. We finished off the day with social studies. Students worked with their partner or small group to do their country research.

Friday June 2

The grade three’s started off their day with the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, group reading, journal writing, worked on their “What I saw in the Teachers lounge” and had a work period.

After recess the students worked on math and then went outside to help pick up garbage in the neighborhood.

This afternoon the class listened to Jame and the Giant Peach. The students then had their spelling test and then worked on their collage and cupcake artwork. The class finished off the afternoon with DPA outside.

Wednesday May 31

The grade three’s started off their day with religion. The students briefly talked about Pentecost, they will continue this discussion when everyone is back from track. Students then worked on a crossword and word search. The class then went to the library and did some math review on IXLmath.com. Following this students read an article called the Ketchup Wars on Currents 4 kids and finished off by listening to stories on bookflix or Storylineonline.net.

After recess the class had a work period with Miss Sheppard where they finished off their storyboards, idioms and art. The students then went to music.

This afternoon the class had DPA in the gym and had a lesson on perimeter with Miss Sheppard.

Friday May 26

The grade three’s had a busy day today! They started off the day with the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, group reading, handwriting, a journal and their good copy of their Caught in an act of kindness writing.

After recess the students practiced for the spring fair before coming back to work on math.

This afternoon the students practiced their class songs for Spring fair and then students in choir practiced their songs in spring fair.

Thursday May 25

The grade three’s started off their day with the Fantastic Five. Students did independent reading, group reading, a comprehension sheet, rough draft and good copies of Caught in an Act of Kindness” as well as their idiom worksheets and storyboards.

After recess the students had a French lesson where they continued to learn more of the song “Je suis une Pizza” as well as new vocabulary words. The students then worked on their math unit on measurement.

This afternoon students continued their socials group research before going to Hillcrest for swimming lessons.

**SPRING FAIR**

Tomorrow students will be finishing their day at 2:30. Students in choir will then perform 2 songs in the gym. After the choir performs the choir students will return to their classrooms. Classes will be called one at a time to perform in the gym. After students perform they will come back to the classroom to get their bags and be dismissed. Students should be officially dismissed between 3:00 and 3:20pm.

Wednesday May 24th

The grade three’s began their day with their last standardized math test. Students then had a religion lesson where they talked about the wedding at Cana when Jesus turned water into wine. The students then went to the library where they checked out library books, watched a YouTube video about thermal energy and worked on the good copy of their letters to Mary.

After recess the students continued their work on their writing pieces on “Caught in an act of kindness” before going to music.

This afternoon the students had PE. After PE the class had a lesson on measurement and worked on several questions from the textbook.
